The Photovoltaics (PV) Techologies group's mission is to accelerate the growth of solar energy generation by conducting applied research on innovative photovoltaic modules, new materials and components, and systems integration.

We help to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and enhance durability of PV technologies in support of our clients’ commercialization efforts. An experienced team of scientists and engineers, supported by a world-class network of research partners, focuses on areas with the greatest need for innovation.

We support development from proof-of-concept to pilot production, and full production. Our expertise includes optical and thermal design, process development, and durability assessment of PV modules and systems. In addition, we develop safe and efficient mounting methods and systems for photovoltaics.

The Photovoltaic Technologies Group has indoor prototyping and testing capabilities in the Center headquarters in Boston and also takes advantage of the outdoor testing capabilities in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Revere, Massachusetts.
