Thermal and Hygrothermal Analysis
Dr. Nitin Shukla is a Senior Member of Technical Staff in Fraunhofer CSE’s Building Enclosures & Materials Group. Nitin is a mechanical engineer with a strong background in the areas of thermal science, material testing, experimental design, finite element analysis, material processing and project management. At Fraunhofer CSE, Nitin has successfully led several government and industry projects focusing on buildings materials, thermal insulation technology, phase change materials (PCM), building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), and thermal and hygrothermal characterization of building materials.
Prior to joining Fraunhofer in 2011, Nitin worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on energy and thermal management. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, for his work on thermal transport across material interfaces and in nanocomposite materials.
Nitin’s hobbies include reading and playing sports.
