Marcin joins Fraunhofer CSE as a Graduate Fellow where he will focus on thermal insulations and window technologies. Currently he is a 4th year Ph.D. student at the Lodz University of Technology in Poland, pursuing a Civil Engineering degree in Building Physics and Building Materials. His thesis title is “Energy and ecological analysis of a mixed urban area, constituting an energy cluster, using conventional and renewable energy sources.” Marcin received his Master's of Engineering from Lodz University of Technology in September 2015, completing a thesis on "Analysis of selected DSR techniques in controlling HVAC system in public buildings.” His experience includes being a university assistant at the Lodz' Department of Building Physics and Building Materials, performing commercial and residential energy audits, and performing computer simulations for energy demands on residences in Africa and Poland and on public buildings in Poland.

He has published internationally with the Open Access Proceedings E3S Web of Conferences, and also with IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering (accepted to publish in the end of 2018). In Poland, he published in Journal of Civil Engineering, Environment and Architecture, JCEEA, and the Scientific Review Engineering and Environmental Sciences. He has presented a many Polish energy conferences since 2016, having recently won VII Conference Solina 2018, and also in 2016.

Marcin is a very active person and enjoys every kind of sport, especially team sports. He has been playing professional volleyball since the age of 15 and currently plays as a receiver for an official second Polish league team. He loves cooking, and sampling a new culture’s cuisine interests him a lot. Last but not least, he loves pets!
