Opportunities for Student Interns

Fraunhofer CSE offers hands-on research R&D internship positions to students interested in pursuing technical careers in the sustainable energy sector. Our competitive program offers the following benefits:

 

  • Work on active industry and government contracts. All interns are full-fledged members of the CSE lab team, working directly on cutting-edge projects for innovative start-ups and top-tier companies.

  • Pursue independent projects. Working at CSE opens the opportunity to propose and pursue fully-funded independent projects to further your studies.
  • Write your thesis. Gain valuable hands-on experience while conducting the lab work required for your bachelor's or master's thesis.
  • Explore MIT. As a CSE intern, you will have the opportunity to work at MIT's laboratories, explore its resources, and participate in events like the annual MIT Energy Conference. 
  • Opportunities for publication. Our lab team publishes its findings in a variety of journals. Your project work at CSE could translate to publication credits. 

All internship positions are compensated and typically last for 6 months, though longer or shorter internships can also be accommodated. All interns have full access to the Center's resources during their stay. For international students, visas and housing can also be provided.
